Buying Dimmable LED Spots

LED lighting has evolved significantly over the years. Where it used to be known for its "cold" or even bluish light, modern dimmable LED lights are now almost indistinguishable from traditional incandescent or halogen lamps. Step 1: Determine the Size and Fitting of the LED Spot
The first step in choosing the right dimmable LED spot is determining the size. If you're replacing an existing lamp with an LED, you can easily measure the current lamp. Common sizes include:

35 mm (small)
50 mm (standard)
70 mm (large)
111 mm (extra-large)

Once you’ve determined the size, selecting the correct fitting is equally important. The most commonly used fittings are GU10, MR11, MR16, and G53. Use the image below to easily identify your lamp's fitting.

Step 2: Determine the Lumen Output
The amount of light emitted by a lamp is now measured in lumens. We understand this can be tricky since there are so many types of lighting. The table below will help you choose the right LED spot by comparing wattage to lumens:

Step 3: Choose the Right Light Color
One of the great advantages of LED lighting is the wide range of available light colors. The most common light colors include:

2200K Extra Warm White (similar to halogen lamps)
2700K Warm White (the most popular, similar to standard halogen lighting)
4000K White (a cooler, brighter light ideal for workspaces, offices, and warehouses)
